Tara’s Visionathon story is a picture of God’s presence in the everyday moments. As a single mum of three children, all on the autism spectrum, Tara’s life is full. But through the noise and busyness, Vision is a constant source of comfort and connection.
“We’re in the car every day, to and from school, and I work in aged care doing in-home support,” she said. “I’m in the car anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes, and Vision is on the whole time.”
Tara has been listening for six or seven years. She says Vision is fulfilling God’s purpose in her life and home. “My kids learn Scripture through the songs. I’ve learnt it too. It’s amazing how it sticks. That’s God’s purpose. That’s what Visionathon is about.”
Music With A Mission
Tara explained how the songs her children learn on Vision reinforce what she’s teaching them. “They start with the Wiggles, then Colin Buchanan, and now it’s the music on Vision. As they grow, the songs grow with them.”
These songs aren’t just catchy—they carry truth that sticks in the heart. “When I’m under pressure, it’s those songs I learnt as a kid that come back,” she said. “They help me—and now they’re helping my kids.”
Giving So Others Can Hear
When asked why she gives, Tara didn’t hesitate. “The whole reason to give is to keep Vision on the air. God uses Vision to bless people and change lives—like mine.”
As a mum navigating a challenging season, Tara’s Visionathon story reminds us what it means to rely on God every single day. “That’s why I gave $365. Because God is with us 365 days a year.”
