About

During this Visionathon, Gayle from Halliday’s Point in New South Wales called in to share how she went through a difficult season, but found her way back through The Word for Today. Her story is a powerful reminder of how God uses Vision to reach people right when they need it.

She began by talking about the recent floods in her area—how lives and homes had been devastated, and how whole communities had lost everything. “There were 74 permanent caravans at a park near Taree. They’re all gone. These people have got nothing,” she said.

But the conversation turned to something even deeper—Gayle’s personal journey with God and how Vision helped her through it.

From Hissy Fit To Healing

“I’ve been with Vision for a long time,” Gayle said. “It started with The Word for Today. I used to get it when we lived near Camden. I’d pay for a subscription because I loved the writings of Bob Gass.”

But like many people, Gayle went through a hard season. “Life dealt some blows and I had what you’d call a bit of a hissy fit,” she said. “I got cranky with God and with everyone connected to God. But you know what? I kept getting The Word for Today. You never stopped sending it. That really touched me.”

Eventually, Gayle wrote a letter to Vision, asking to reinstate her subscription. She didn’t know who would read it—but the response floored her.

“I got a beautiful letter back from Ian Worby,” she said. “He said some lovely things that really affected me. He even sent me a little book called Coming Home. It brought me to tears.”

A Word In Every Season

Gayle’s story shows just how vital The Word for Today can be—especially for those going through valleys. “Even when I was off the boil,” she said, “you kept sending the Word. And eventually, it helped bring me back.”

That’s why Visionathon exists. To keep reaching people like Gail. “We want to see revival in our nation. Whether someone’s off the boil or on fire for God, we want them to receive truth, hope and the message of Jesus.”

A $500 donation can help 250 people receive The Word for Today. They might be in hospital, in prison, or in a place where they’re not sure where God is. But your gift could be the thing that helps them find their way back.
