This Visionathon, Joy called in with a heartfelt testimony of how she went from darkness to light through Vision. Her story is a powerful reminder of why Vision matters and how God can use even a simple radio broadcast to bring healing and hope.
“I had baby number three and was going through postnatal depression,” Joy shared. “I’d come out of domestic violence and God was still healing me. I was driving through town trying to find a radio station when I heard Christian music. I thought, what is this? It turned out to be Vision. I’d never heard of it before, but I couldn’t stop listening.”
That discovery became a turning point. “Every time I went to town, I had to find Vision. And even now, wherever I am, it’s got to be on in my car. It’s that important.”
A Town Transformed
Phil Edwards shared how Vision came to be in Joy’s hometown of Kingaroy. “It goes back to 1999. A woman named Faith felt led by God to give $30,000 to secure the local frequency. Back then, Vision was still new. People around her said she was crazy. But she said, ‘I feel God’s prompting.’ And she gave.”
Because of that one act of obedience, countless lives, including Joy’s, have been touched. “We’ve heard stories of people being saved, encouraged, and changed in Kingaroy,” Phil said. “Faith sowed a seed, and here we are 26 years later, seeing the harvest.”
Joy encouraged everyone to donate whatever they can to Visionathon. “We don’t know who’s going to find Vision today,” she said. “But it’s an investment for life. Life in Christ. And that’s what we need. His life alive in people. Vision is the light this country needs. Please give.”
