This Visionathon, long-time ministry partner Dr Michael Youssef reminded us of the importance of leaving a legacy that lasts. Michael spoke about why it matters to give now rather than putting it off.
“People tend to leave things to the last minute,” he said. “But we need to strike while the iron is hot. You don’t know what tomorrow holds. If you’re feeling convicted to give, do it today.”
Dr Youssef, founder of Leading the Way and a third-generation evangelical Christian from Egypt, has been connected with Vision for over 25 years. “I’m thinking about my legacy more than ever,” he said. “I have four children and fifteen grandchildren. I want them to grow up hearing the gospel on Vision.”
A Legacy That Lives On
That sense of legacy runs deep through Vision’s history. “Vision started in 1988, and it was built on faith. Some of the people who gave in the early days have already gone to heaven. But their impact continues. Because they gave, others are hearing the gospel today.”
Dr Youssef echoed that sentiment. “I’m closer to heaven than I’ve ever been,” he said. “But God has given me energy, and I’m pouring it into the Kingdom. I want to invest my life—and my resources—so that the next generation knows Christ.”
He challenged listeners to do the same. “When I sow, I look for ministries that will still be around for the next generation. That’s why I stand with Vision. The Kingdom is now and yet to come. We need to give now for both.”
