It is estimated that there are now around 1.2 million Christians living in Saudi Arabia.
Christian Headlines reports that most Christians in Saudi Arabia are expatriates who are allowed to work.
All citizens are officially Muslim and the law does not permit Saudis to follow other faiths – with conversion from Islam to Christianity punishable by death.
Conversion from Islam is considered “apostasy,” and requires the apostate to renounce their new faith or face execution.
Although Christian foreign workers are allowed to enter the country to work, missionaries and clergy of other religions are not allowed into Saudi Arabia to plant churches.
There are no churches in the country, and Christians meet in their homes or in private groups online.
Around 60 thousand Muslims in Saudi Arabia reportedly converted to Christianity between 1960 and 2015.
