An English pastor is being remembered as a hero after sacrificng his life to save his wife in a multi-vehicle crash in the city of Manchester.
David Lalgee swerved his car so that he would take the full impact of an out-of-control truck that had crossed a motorway median strip.
His wife Jo only suffered minor injuries and said she’ll be forever grateful to her husband and grandfather of nine.
“When we came to a stop, all the airbags had gone off, but I thought we were OK,” she told The Daily Mail.
“But I could see David and there was blood streaming from his head.”
“I got out of the car, and apart from a couple of broken ribs I was OK.”
“But the car had been completely crushed.”

“David saved my life. It was a miracle that I walked away from the accident.”

Pastor Lalgee’s step-daughter Connie wrote online that he had “given his life to save the woman he loved.”

EVANGELIST FRANKLIN GRAHAM REMEMBERS PASTOR AS A HERO
Pastor Lalgree led the evangelical Church Alive in Blackpool and had close ties to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA).
Its leader and evangelist Franklin Graham posted: “This pastor was a hero.”
“He served as pastor of a church in England where we held one of our training events before I preached there in 2018.”

“The pastor’s son-in-law Reuben Morley works with the BGEA and shared John 15:13:
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.
”Would you please join me in praying for this family during their time of great loss?” he asked on a GoFundMe page.
“David was a strong, loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and pastor, and was deeply loved by so many,” he wrote.
“David’s last moments on earth were spent how he so often lived, protecting the ones he loved,” he reflected.
“Because of his heroics on the night, nobody else lost their life.”
