US Vice President J.D. Vance has had a busy month trying to reshape mainstream culture in the US and its Western allies.
His latest target has been declining masculinity in American men, which he believes is creating “large numbers of androgynous idiots.”
He was asked at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week what message he had for young men in America.
Mr Vance responded that he believes “our culture sends a message to young men that you should suppress every masculine urge.”
“My message to young men is, don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man,” he asserted.
“Because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive.”
The vice president added that he believes mainstream American society “wants to turn everybody, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same and act the same.”
“We actually think God made male and female for a purpose,” he continued.
“We want you guys to thrive as young men and as young women, and we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that.”
VANCE DENOUNCES EUROPE’S EXCESSIVE CURBS ON FREE SPEECH
Just days earlier at the Munich Security Conference in Germany, he denounced European curbs on free speech and accused EU member nations of retreating from their values and ignoring voter concerns on migration and free speech.
At CPAC, he reiterated his position that “the greatest threat in Europe” is unfettered immigration.
“We cannot rebuild Western civilization; we cannot rebuild the United States of America or Europe by letting millions and millions of unvetted illegal migrants come into our country. It has to stop,” he declared.
Mr. Vance considered it a “related issue” that governments in Europe “have to allow” their people “to raise issues about it. You have to allow free speech to debate this stuff.”
“You’ve got to give the populations of the world the opportunity to speak up and say: No more of this,” he said.
VANCE RAILS AGAINST CENSORSHIP AND PROMOTION OF ATHEISM
Following a hostile reception to his views from European leaders, the vice president emphasised that while he does consider Western European powers to be “friends” of the US, he also believes “friendship is based on shared values.”
“You do not have shared values if you’re jailing people for saying: We should close down our border.”
“You don’t have shared values if you cancel elections because you don’t like the result.”
At the recent Artificial Intelligence Summit in Paris, Mr .Vance called on the nations of the world to ensure that AI does not become a tool for government-imposed censorship, encouraging the embrace of what he calls “a new industrial revolution.”
In another sharp rebuke to European Union member nations, he warned that their “excessive regulation” could cripple the rapidly growing AI industry.
At the International Religious Freedom (IRF) summit in Washington, D.C., the vice president warned that his country’s international engagement on religious liberty has been “corrupted.”
He vowed that the Trump administration will not use tax dollars to promote atheism abroad, or to prop up causes that undermine religion.
Mr .Vance described religious freedom as “the freedom to practice one’s own faith and act according to one’s own conscience.”
“It’s, of course, the bedrock of civil society in the United States of America and across the world.”
He accused former President Joe Biden of “doing more to destroy free speech, not just in the United States, but also in Europe, than any administration in American history.”
“I’m not even blaming the Europeans,” he added.
“I’m actually saying, you followed the lead of Joe Biden into censorship and mass migration.”
“Follow the lead of Donald J. Trump, and that’s free speech, borders and sovereignty,” he insisted.
