Australian Christian Lobby (ACL) CEO ,Michelle Pearse, has welcomed Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election as “a clear sign that Americans have rejected woke ideology, political correctness, and government overreach.”
She claimed Kamala Harris “tried to capitalise on her extreme pro-abortion legacy to win the votes of Americans – but clearly, she misread the American sentiment.”
Ms. Pearse observed: “As California’s Attorney General, as a Senator, and as a Vice President, Ms. Harris has consistently opposed pro-life reforms and sought to advance extreme ideologies like gender fluidity.”
“Americans have grown weary of the top-down push for ‘wokeness’ and forced ideological agenda. They have said enough is enough,” the ACL boss asserted.
She expressed hope that Australia would take note: “There is a clear message here. People are tired of divisive ideologies and want to return to common-sense politics.”
“The reach of the anti-life, pro-abortion movement is also not as vast as it claims to be,” Ms. Pearse declared.
In the US, California pastor Greg Laurie said America “needs restoration” and urged people to pray for the President-elect.
“America needs restoration. President Trump could have died so easily in the assassination attempts on his life, but God did indeed spare him,” Pastor Laurie wrote on social media.
“When President Ronald Reagan was shot early in his presidency, he too felt God had spared his life. The night Reagan returned to The White House he confided in his diary: Whatever happens now I owe my life to God and I will serve Him every way I can.”
“Ronald Reagan went on have one of the greatest presidencies in American history.”
“Let’s pray now for President Trump that he will be surrounded by Godly and competent people who will give him good counsel in the days ahead. God bless President Trump and God bless the United States of America!” Pastor Laurie proclaimed.
Albert Mohler, president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, praised Donald Trump’s victory speech as “gracious and positive.”
“Trump called for Americans to put the divisions of the past behind us and he presented a warm and inviting vision of America’s future. He spoke of God saving his life when a shooter tried to assassinate him — and came so very close to doing so.”
“In the course of his campaign, Trump has often spoken in far darker terms and with far less graciousness. The American people have given him the rarest of gifts: a second presidency. Only President Grover Cleveland can claim the same. So much now rests on Trump’s shoulders,” Dr. Mohler wrote.
“We need Donald Trump to live up to the spirit of his words presented this morning. He has an opportunity to change history. He was elected with great hopes and expectations and giant challenges.”
“He has often proved to be his own worst enemy. We need Donald Trump to be as strong as he sees himself to be and to be a statesman equal to these demanding times.”
“As Christians, our task now is to pray for President-elect Trump and for our nation. We know that much before we know anything else. The American electoral system worked and produced a clear winner,” Dr. Mohler concluded.
Ben Carson, a retired Christian neurosurgeon, former presidential candidate, and former Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in the first Trump presidency, posted on social media: “Congratulations to my good friend and the next President of the United States. God is not done with our country. Let’s get to work.”
Evangelist Franklin Graham, president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse, wrote: “Congratulations to Donald Trump on being elected the 47th president of the United States of America! I pray that you will look to God every day for His guidance and wisdom.”
Christian broadcaster and author Eric Metaxas, who is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, wrote: “God knew. Praise Jesus. We don’t deserve this. It is an outrageous gift from God. So let us use it to His glory! Hallelujah! AMEN.”
