When Deanna from Campbelltown in New South Wales called during Visionathon, she shared a powerful story of how Vision has helped bring real hope in a dark season. Not just for her, but for a young woman named Gemma.
Deanna met Gemma in a way that could only have been divinely orchestrated by God. “She was homeless,” Deanna said, “and she used to walk past my house every day, leaving a flower on my lawn, hoping to catch me outside to talk.”
Eventually, the two crossed paths at Deanna’s church pantry. “She came in looking for food but found the real food of life,” Deanna said through tears. “She found love and support, gave her testimony at church, and rededicated her life to Christ.”
Real Hope for Gemma
Gemma now faces a terminal diagnosis. She no longer has a mother or father and lives alone, navigating a hard road with limited support. But thanks to Deanna, and Vision, she’s not walking it alone.
“She listens to Vision at home. That’s what keeps her going,” Deanna said. “She knows Jesus is with her now. And I’m walking with her too, mentoring her, and our church is standing with her.”
Deanna said her friend would want to thank Vision. “In a world that gave her no hope, Jesus has given her hope. And Vision has helped bring that light into her life.”
