About

Jessica and her 11-year-old son Whitfield are teaching generosity one coin at a time. Every Visionathon, they collect five and ten cent coins in a small recycled container with a Vision sticker on it.

“We don’t really miss the five and ten cent coins,” Jessica said. “So we save them up and just before Visionathon, we count it all. This year there was $20.30 in there. That’s his ‘one more’. He’s already a monthly partner, and this is over and above.”

The idea of going “one more” isn’t just about giving. Jessica is raising her son to go the extra mile in every area of his life.

“When you finish a meal, don’t just take your dish to the sink. Rinse it off and put it in the dishwasher. That’s one more. It’s about learning to lighten the load of others.”

Creating A Culture Of Giving

Jessica sees her family’s giving as part of a bigger picture of Christian living. “It’s about building a culture in our home. The way we treat others, even when our parents grow old, it all starts with the example we set early.”

For their family, Vision is more than background noise. “We feel like Vision is part of our family,” Jessica said. “We’ve visited the team in Queensland. We’re teaching our son to give, to grow and to be part of something that makes a difference.”

Vision costs just $20 a minute to run. It’s a mission built on everyday Australians doing what they can. Whether it’s a spare coin or a regular monthly gift, it all adds up.

A Small Act With A Big Impact

Jessica’s story is a beautiful reminder that small things done with love can have a big impact. “We’ll keep doing this,” she said. “And when he gets bored of this method, we’ll find a new creative way to give.”

From five cent coins to a legacy of faith, Jessica and Whitfield are planting seeds that will bless others for years to come.
