Eleven-year-old William from Port Hedland gave $20 to Visionathon. That $20 will keep Vision running for one full minute. And as Phil and Andy pointed out on air, it’s a minute that could change someone’s life.
A Heart To Give And Pray
When William called in, he was already dressed for school and had made his own lunch. But he had also done something even more important. He had given. And when asked why he gave his $20, his answer was simple: “Just so that more people can listen to Vision.”
William listens in the car. He loves the stories, especially one about a woman who became a Christian, even when her husband threatened to take the children. “Even if you’re not a Christian,” William said, “and you don’t believe and stuff is going hard, then you can just keep going.”
William isn’t just listening. He’s living out his faith. He’s prayed for people in need, including a man at a camp who was struggling. “He did 49 push-ups after I prayed for him,” William shared. “And the next year, I got to pray for the preacher backstage.”
Why William’s Gift Matters
William receives $50 a week in pocket money, and he chose to give $20, which was 40% of what he had. That one minute of airtime could be the very moment someone hears God’s Word and responds.
Host Andy said it best: “When I was 11, $20 could nearly buy a car! Even today, it’s a lot of money, especially for a child. But look at the eternal impact it can have.”
When asked what his prayer for Australia would be, William answered simply. “That everybody becomes a Christian.”
William’s gift isn’t just $20. It’s a seed sown in faith, pointing people to Jesus.
