For those who appreciate history:

  • The Prince of Wales Hotel, built in 1836, is now an antique shop on the town’s main street.
  • St Andrews Anglican Church and Graveyard is designed in the Victorian Academic Gothic style.
  • Solomon’s Cottage was built in 1838 as a bakery by Joseph Solomon.
  • The Saddlers Shop dates back to 1840 when horses were still the main mode of transport.
  • Evandale’s Water Tower was built in 1895 from stone.

One of Evandale’s highlights is the annual Evandale Village Fair held in February which has a variety of stalls, a display of vintage cars, live entertainment, children’s activities and the locals sporting colonial costumes. Since 1983, the Evandale Village Fair has been hosting the National Penny Farthing Championships. Competitors from all over the world come to race these ‘bone-shaking’ bicycles.
